Who I Am: Full-Stack SWE who has proven experience taking a company from a one-person operation to multi-million dollar deals. I'm here for the entire ride, including initial development, product direction, funding, outreach, and scale.

What Makes Me Special: I've got the technical skills, people skills, and industry knowledge that differentiate a successful startup founder from a run-of-the-mill programmer. I love getting to represent my company at conferences, during demos, and in cold outreach, then coming home to grind bug fixes and feature implementations until the sun comes up. I've got the tenacity and dedication your team needs.

Who You Are: A startup in any stage from pre-seed to scale that has a killer product and needs a dedicated technical founder. You have a tight knit team that values one another and helps each another where needed. You're humble, confident, and don't need to one-up each other for the sake of ego. "Don't be evil" and putting people over profit are core tenets of your business model.

SEEKING CONTRACT WORK - Forward deployed engineer, remote, email in profile. Location: West Coast, remote only.

I'm a forward-deployed engineer. My background is 15+ years of data science, but I focus on solving problems. I work in messy, ambiguous, regulated environments. Often at a client's site, inside their systems and their data. I excavate unmapped data, learn how the team works, and ship tools that stay in production.

Deployed and still running today: Legal clause extraction and validation; site corrosion detection and management; routing and predictive-maintenance systems that stayed in service.

I compress engineering, data, and modeling into one function, owned end to end. I show up, figure out what needs to be built, and make it work.

Tooling: ML/AI, LLMs, and the engineering around them: evals, determinism, observability, guardrails. The tech is just a tool, The hard part is knowing what to build.

If you have a messy, ambiguous problem that needs someone who can embed and ship, my email is in my profile.

EDIT: Corrosion detection so people don't think I detect rust code. (Nothing wrong with that though)

Technologies: Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, Go, Python, Docker, Helm, Argo, Kong, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Vector, Quickwit

Resume/CV: [available on request]

Email: [email protected] (want to keep it anonymous because coworkers are on HN)

24 years in infrastructure, currently Lead Platform Engineer at a security AI startup where I built the platform team from scratch (0 to 5 engineers) and architected multi-tenant Kubernetes infrastructure across 40+ clusters with per-tenant KMS encryption and Argo-based progressive delivery.

Before that, spent nearly 6 years as Staff SRE at Iterable where most of my work centered on making infrastructure cheaper and more reliable. Replaced ELK with Quickwit for 65TB/day log ingestion (saved $1.2M/year), migrated Lambda pipelines to Vector ($60k/mo down to $8k/mo), and stood up VictoriaMetrics to replace Datadog for 33M metrics ($30k/mo savings). I tend to find the project that saves the most money and then actually build it.

I write Go -- built Kubernetes operators for RabbitMQ, Redis, and Vector (open source: github.com/zcentric/vector-operator). Terraform is my IaC of choice and I've used it everywhere from a global Predix platform (Japan, EU regions) to scaling Kubernetes clusters from 10 to 300 nodes on spot instances for satellite image processing at Urthecast.

I've managed teams at three companies (up to 6 engineers) and served as product owner for SRE groups, but I'm open to both IC and management roles at the Staff/Principal/Director level.

Looking for: DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Cloud Infrastructure roles. $200K+ total comp. Remote only, US-based.

Senior backend engineer available for contract, fractional, contract-to-hire, or full-time opportunities. I have 30+ years of experience building and operating production systems across startups, SaaS, media, financial services, telecom, and public safety domains. I've worked in both early-stage and growth-stage companies and enjoy owning systems end-to-end, from architecture and implementation through deployment and operations. For the past 13 years I've focused primarily on Ruby on Rails backend platforms, APIs, PostgreSQL, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and production reliability. My experience includes backend architecture, distributed systems, database performance tuning, cloud migrations, DevOps ownership, and operating customer-facing systems in production. I enjoy helping teams solve scaling, reliability, modernization, and operational challenges. Particularly interested in backend, platform, infrastructure, and data-intensive systems, though I'm comfortable contributing across the stack when needed. Available to help with Rails modernization, production reliability, cloud migrations, PostgreSQL performance tuning, backend platform development, and API-heavy applications.

I currently lead AI solutions inside the learning org of a large business/accounting SaaS company. In practice I'm the person who takes an ambiguous "could AI do this?" and comes back with either a working prototype or a defensible reason not to build one.

Before this: eight years designing learning experiences, 14 years as a Canadian Forces communications systems tech, and sysadmin/service work.

Looking for: product or solutions roles in learning technology — LXP/LMS vendors, ed-tech, or in-house enablement teams that want someone who can build the thing and also step through the procurement, legal, and security compliance requirements when sensitive data is involved.

Résumé/CV: kol3x.com

I started as a fullstack JS engineer and grew into product development at my last company. I owned the ingestion layer - collecting 100k relevant messages/month from 4 platforms through a dirt-cheap serverless back-end on Cloudflare Workers.

We worked with LLMs deeply, especially in code generation. I was part of a small team developing SpecGEM, a fine-tuned model that generates Cloudflare Workers code from JSDoc comments and is designed to outperform mainstream LLMs at this narrow task.

I just released an open-source self-hosted LLM assistant on Cloudflare Workers that predictably compounds context across conversations. https://github.com/kol3x/pawmc

Looking for a remote role where I can own work end-to-end. Stack-wise I'm strongest on Cloudflare Workers, JavaScript, and practical LLM integration.

Software engineer with a background in infrastructure, backend systems, and developer tooling. I enjoy building systems that are easy to operate, easy to change, and automate away repetitive work. Strongest areas are Nix/Linux, CI/CD, infrastructure, and Rust/Python.

Most recently I was a Founding Engineer at Alpha Story. Before that I worked in production operations supporting more than 100 AWS-hosted government websites, where I wrote internal tools to automate operational workflows.

I contribute to nixpkgs, Home Manager, Hyprland, NVF, pullomatic, and other open-source projects. Personal projects are mostly around Nix, Linux, Rust, and developer tooling.

I'm looking for backend, platform, infrastructure, or developer tooling roles.

Resume: https://bit.ly/3B3o65M (It links to my CV repo at Github, pinky promise. You can also visit github.com/<hnusername>.)

I'm not actively looking (hence why my resume link is obfuscated like that) but I'm at least interested in getting a feel for the market right now. That said, I'm willing to consider a position with a great fit for my skill set and career goals.

Here's my pitch: I have experience in a multitude of industries and positions. From improving legacy infra and processes in an established telco company to scaling a fast-moving startup from 200K to 2M users. In my free time, I love writing Code That Is Poetry but day-to-day I am not an idealist engineer who doesn't compromise. Well-engineered code is clean and correct but correct above all else.

Oh, also, I'm great at writing documentation. I consider myself introverted but apparently my communication skills are above average for Software Engineers. I also pride myself on my humility and modesty. :V

I'm currently a backend engineer developing features and improving infra for an online game with millions of daily active users. I'd love to explore other technical positions in the games industry short of joining a AAA studio because (a) I don't want to crunch and (b) my skill set does not lay that way; other tech-creative industries would also appeal to me! Another particular interest is in B2C businesses where the 'C' is software developers. I'd love to chat and network about opportunities; if you think you have a product that could benefit from my skill set, drop me a line!

I keep turning single-tenant hacks into systems that scale to N — without a rewrite.

In my last role, I took a Fortune 50 telecom client's warehouse platform from a hardcoded single-store system to a config-driven multi-store architecture, taking daily EDI throughput from ~200 to 500-600+ transactions/day with support for unlimited future store onboarding. Same instinct shows up elsewhere I've worked: an async forecasting engine that now powers $30-40M revenue and $10-20M labour projections across 10-12 warehouses, and a geospatial load-matching engine (PC Miler + DAT APIs) that cut empty driver miles from 35%+ to under 25%.

Recently I've been applying the same discipline to AI products. Memorix (Live: https://memorix-sepia-kappa.vercel.app/) is a multi-tenant RAG platform , Pinecone namespace partitioning and Supabase RLS for isolation, two-stage retrieval/reranking, OAuth into GitHub/Slack/Notion/Confluence.

NextFlow is a DAG-based AI workflow engine (React Flow + Trigger.dev) where independent nodes run concurrently via topological sort, with branch-isolated fault tolerance so one failure doesn't take down the rest.

Currently going deep on AI agents and MCP — interested in roles where I can take that from prototype to production.

Looking for backend, full-stack, or applied AI/GenAI engineering roles.

SEEKING WORK | Berlin | Remote | Product engineering / R&D / Prototyping / Management

Hi! This is Victor,

For the last years I've been floating in between product design / product engineering / design engineering.

I have a background in engineering. My career started making satellite firmware but I moved to user facing areas.

I've been working a lot with AI recently creating very interesting tools, workflows and UIs. I'd be happy to have a call and show some cool stuff!

My strengths are:

UI, UX, interaction design beyond screens
Prototyping complex and creative apps, Creative coding
Tech Stack: I love user facing things (React, expo, etc) but these days with agentic coding basically anything.

I'm an experienced developer, visionary and researcher.

I've created better "Who to be hired?" reader here https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48748491

Reach out to me and I will strengthen your team with my experience and knowledge.

I started working with AI back in 2014 and consider myself one of the early vibe coders. I’m interested in everything related to AI and security, I’ve worked on benchmarks, optimizations, training and inference, tinygrad, H100, B200, DeepSeek etc. I also developed an ultra-fast programming language for executing complex GPU workloads and created a generative OS for it.

Under 25, I created the core of a security scanner and built a hacking team at a UK startup ($7M investment). We removed the GIL from Python to run 30,000 threads and scan 18,000 exchange IPs for malware overnight.

I have many achievements, I created a Top-10 music app on the App Store and an Instagram filter editor for a social network that had 28,000 users at launch.

I worked on a top-30 AI cryptocurrency, built a next-gen version of BitChat https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48748439 and developed a file manager for offline backup drives: https://github.com/web3cryptowallet/drive-py

AI-assisted Full-Stack TypeScript developer looking for a remote frontend/full-stack/implementation role.

I’m strongest at taking a loosely defined product task and pushing it all the way to a working result: codebase research, implementation, debugging, testing, deployment, and post-deploy fixes.

My main project is a production CRM built with Next.js/TypeScript/Node: authentication, per-user data isolation, projects and financial tracking, analytics, multi-currency support, an LLM assistant with persistent conversations, CI, automated tests, backups, and deployment on a Linux VPS.

I’ve also built automation/data-processing tooling for 20k+ structured records, worked with REST integrations and Bitrix24 data, and debugged real deployment issues across APIs, SMTP, builds, environment configuration, Nginx and PM2.

I use coding agents heavily, but not as a black box: I inspect the existing codebase, define the scope, review diffs, run type checks/tests/builds, reproduce bugs and verify the result manually before calling a task done.

I’m not looking for a role where “junior” means only converting Figma into components. I’d like to work close to the product and own real problems across frontend, backend, integrations, automation and internal tooling.

Open to full-time work and serious contract opportunities.
