Aqora Quantum | Sr Full-Stack Engineer (Rust + React) | Paris ONSITE or REMOTE (EU) | €70-90k + equity | https://aqora.io

Aqora Quantum is building the algorithm layer of quantum computing: the place where people develop, share, and orchestrate quantum workflows. Hardware gets most of the attention, but the algorithms and the tooling around them are where the field actually becomes useful, and today that work is scattered across notebooks and one-off scripts. We host versioned datasets and reproducible benchmarks so results are comparable, and give teams a way to publish a workflow that someone else can pick up and run. Think Kaggle/Hugging Face, but for quantum. We're a small but growing team, having just raised our seed round, and we're now extending into the US.

We're looking for one senior full-stack engineer. You'd own features end to end: GraphQL API and services in Rust, React/TypeScript frontend, plus the runner that executes user-submitted workflows against simulators and real backends.

You don't need a quantum background, but you do need to enjoy going deep on an unfamiliar technology and getting productive in it fast. That happens here constantly, and we'll give you the time and the people to learn it properly. Beyond that: production Rust you've shipped and maintained, and real comfort across the stack.

Onsite in Paris or remote anywhere in the EU. If you're not in Paris, expect to join us there regularly for team weeks.

Email [email protected] with a CV or GitHub, mention HN. Happy to answer questions in the thread too.

IVPN | Infrastructure Engineer / Sysadmin | Remote (UTC-1 to UTC+3 only) | Full-time | https://www.ivpn.net

We are a privacy-focused B2C VPN, running since 2010, independently audited every year (#8 in progress), well-regarded in the privacy community. Alongside the VPN we run additional services: modDNS, Mailx and Portmaster.

You'll partner with our senior infrastructure engineer and own day-to-day infra for IVPN and modDNS: rolling out a new immutable, diskless, bare-metal VPN gateway fleet, improving DNS routing, and automating whatever you can. Fully remote, high autonomy: maximum freedom, minimum meetings.

Expected background: - 3+ yrs managing production Linux, including bare-metal - 3+ yrs with a config management tool (Ansible, Puppet or Salt) - Comfortable scripting in Python, Go or Bash - Solid TCP/IP, UDP, SSL/TLS - Genuine interest in infosec (public-key crypto, TPM, reproducible builds)

How to apply: the posting has the full details and a few short questions, apply by email as described there. Questions welcome at viktor at ivpn.net.

MONUMENTAL | https://www.monumental.co/ | Amsterdam, The Netherlands | Full Time | Onsite

We make robots that autonomously construct buildings, starting with bricklaying.

There's a lot of vapourware in robotics, but we're deploying robots across multiple concurrent sites today - and generating revenue. In the last couple of months, our robots have built affordable social housing, health care living units, canal walls in the historic city centre of Amsterdam, and a youth sports centre. Help us to build things that matter in the long run.

We're looking for experienced software engineers for many roles. You can help us solve problems like:

- Data sync and analytics queries across a fleet of robots (that can be offline for hours at a time)

- Modelling buildings in code and finding the right UI for operators to edit them

- Designing systems for robots to drive safely and fully autonomously around a building site

Check out the progress we've already made on Atrium, our operating system for robotics: https://www.monumental.co/atrium

We're rapidly scaling up operations (recently announced our Series B!) and we need experienced engineers who can build the systems that manage all of that complexity. If you think that 'full-stack' could reasonably mean debugging firmware, mixing buckets of mortar _and_ writing React components, we are looking for you. Robotics experience not required!

Democrance | https://democrance.com | Python/Django/Pyramid/Pydantic AI hacker | REMOTE (working in Dubai-UK timezones)

We’re a mature microinsurance SaaS startup, building software to help bridge the gap between insurance companies and those who are not insured or under-insured. High traffic, mobile first + SMS platform that requires some interesting compliance and security requirements with deployments in countries with variable quality infrastructure. Now with added AI sprinkled on top to automate underwriting and data collection tasks - enabling lower cost insurance and reaching wider/underserved markets.

Stack is Vue.js with mostly django in the back end although pyramid/sqlalchemy is being used in our analytics dashboard. Plenty of third party api integration. Gitlab, unit tests, and continuous integration are standard.

Our devops stack includes Ansible and Terraform, and we operate across the major cloud providers, as well as a few smaller players! Mature and international dev team with a few PhD’s included.

Our QA Automation stack is built in Selenium in Java, and we're exploring Playwright as a complementary technology. Understanding of GIT, CI/CD pipelines debugging issues related to them will be key. Experience with TestNG, Maven or Gradle welcome!

We’re looking for both mature candidates and juniors - industry experience is of course welcome.

Please apply to [email protected] by clearly stating the role you want to apply for, your name, current location and visa status, your notice period, salary (Please do not apply again if you already have).

Trustworthy Technology | Earth | Part Time | REMOTE | Vision, Marketing, and Design

Hi, we are a small group trying to bring the "trustworthy" feature back to tech. Curating and building a FOSS+ toolset, storefront, and eventually online service—all to support freedom, privacy, and informed consent—on device and on the net.

We've written our thoughts and research down at: https://trustworthy.technology/ and we have a few geeks starting projects at: https://codeberg.org/aol

First off, you'll notice that you've not heard about this project before. Next, the message is a bit scattered, and the "programmer art," while arguably not horrible isn't winning any awards either, haha.

That's where you come in.

You are one of the few folks who really cares about this stuff, and also a graphic/product designer, or perhaps a digital marketer, communicator or "people whisperer." (Being in the EU would be helpful as well, to work from the digital sovereignty angle, though not required.)

Some of us are unemployed, don't have any money of note, and currently donating our time. Maybe you are too, or retired/cashed-out and bored. Consider this another FOSS-like project. We hope the store/service will make money, but we're not there yet.

Interested? Let's chat at: https://trustytech.zulipchat.com/join/ipafmtlcq5iwrlmk2v7pu4...

Canopy | Staff Software Engineer, Sensing | SF Bay Area (Peninsula) | HYBRID | Full-time | $200-225K + equity | https://canopyworks.com

Canopy builds the real-time coordination layer for hospitals: communication, safety, location intelligence, and response across large, complex care environments. Every hospital is a logistics problem wrapped around a clinical one, with millions of people and events an hour across the country. When a building can sense itself in real time, the gap between an event and the right person arriving goes from minutes to seconds. People are safer, care arrives faster, and hospitals and clinics get a path to modernize on the infrastructure they already run. Sensing is the foundation.

You'd build our next-generation sensing and ML pipeline (the "physical full stack"), from sensors and embedded firmware through edge algorithms to the backend and frontend services. Physics-based modeling for sensing problems that traditional IoT products can't solve, in devices that have to survive harsh environments. We care deeply about hardware-in-the-loop platforms, simulations, and internal tools. Ideal candidates have shipped production features on both sides of the hardware/software line.

What we've deployed recently: TypeScript, WASM, Rust, C, Python, RTOS (Zephyr, FreeRTOS), embedded Linux.

If you care about the difference between 99.99% and 99.999%, and about the frontline medical staff relying on that last nine, you'll like it here.

Apply: https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/canopyworks/jobs/4317128009 AND email hn <at> (company domain) about a real-world sensor that broke your prior assumptions: what you expected, what the data actually did, and what you changed.

Senzing | Platform Engineer | Remote (USA) | Full-Time

Senzing builds enterprise entity-resolution SDK technology — an embeddable library that runs entirely inside customer infrastructure with zero data exfiltration. We're hiring a platform engineer to own AWS infrastructure for Placekey (our location-data subsidiary, production API at scale) and support Senzing's core ops.

This isn't a keep-the-lights-on role. We just completed an infra migration and are actively modernizing. You'd own day-to-day operations, harden the new environment, and have real input on where it goes.

Stack: EKS Fargate, Aurora PostgreSQL, S3, Lambda, Cloudflare, API gateway (Kong/AWS), Terraform, Grafana/CloudWatch/Datadog. Apps are Scala and Rust. Looking for: 5+ years platform/cloud infra, production Kubernetes (EKS ideal), managed Postgres (backup/recovery/tuning), IaC, solid networking, strong Python/Bash.

Remote anywhere in the USA. Competitive salary, full health/dental/vision, 401(k) match, flexible PTO.

To apply: email [email protected] with your resume and a short note — tell us about a challenging production system you've owned end to end, including an incident where your monitoring missed something and what you changed afterward.

Kyra Health | Senior & Staff Product Engineers | Python / TypeScript | Remote (USA)

We're building software that helps employers replace traditional group health insurance with individual plans, making healthcare less expensive and easier to navigate for everyone involved. We're doing it now because recent regulatory changes and advances in AI have made it possible. We're building at the intersection of healthcare, fintech, compliance, and AI.

Implementation is getting cheaper; engineering judgment is not.

We're looking for engineers who enjoy turning ambiguous problems into production systems, working across product and architecture, reviewing AI-generated code, building leverage through automation, and shipping quickly without creating a maintenance disaster.

Strong Python or TypeScript experience (or equivalent), good judgment, and good communication are more important to us than checking every box. US residency required, with a preference for candidates in the Eastern Time Zone or nearby.

Apply at https://engineering.kyra.health.

Questions are welcome at [email protected], but applications sent by email will not be reviewed. Please apply through the website.

Apex Dental Partners | Full-Stack Developer | Dallas, TX (Remote US or Hybrid) | apexdp.com

We're a Dental Support Organization running 65 practices across TX/OK/CO/MO/IA/NE/TN/AZ. The unsexy industry description hides what's actually an interesting technical role: a small dev team with real ownership, pushing hard on automation and AI to make dental operations actually work well.

Stack is primarily Rails 8 + React, Electron, C# .NET (OpenDental), and Go — all on AWS.

You'd be joining a tight team where developers own problems end-to-end: from understanding why a billing workflow breaks down, to designing the fix, to shipping it. The domain is surprisingly broad — patient communication, PMS integration, payroll, clinical workflows — and there's no shortage of genuinely novel problems once you learn the business.

Good fit if you like: stable company, small team, broad latitude, and work that visibly matters to the people using it. Not a fit if you need a large eng org — but there's plenty of greenfield work as we're still actively building new features, not just maintaining legacy code.

FurtherAI | San Francisco | Onsite | Full-time | https://furtherai.com

We're building the AI agents that run insurance - a $1T+ industry still run on PDFs, email, and manual review. Our agents read the documents, pull from the systems underwriters already use, and actually complete the work. In production at top-10 carriers and F100 brokers; ~10x growth in the last year; backed by a16z and YC.

The hard problems: keeping an agent reliable across dozens of tool calls; orchestration + evals + reliability on top of frontier models.

We've rebuilt the product from scratch more than once as the models got better!

Stack: Python, TypeScript/React, Azure, frontier LLMs.

Roles (all onsite SF): - Staff AI Engineer — agent reliability, evals, orchestration ($250–350K + equity) - Staff Product Engineer — full-stack, own the product surface ($250–350K + equity) - Staff Infrastructure Engineer — Azure, single-tenant, SOC 2 ($250–350K + equity) - Founding Product Manager — technical, first PM ($180–230K + equity)

Kinelo is building the "org structure" for humans+AI working together, shoulder-to-shoulder, as peers. We help coordinate tasks between each actor in a company, handoff context, and provide a voice and "seat at the table" to AI coworkers.

We're a small team, just hired our first GTM lead and a new product engineer. Getting ready to grow. We'd like to find another strong, experienced software engineer who can span everything from talking to customers to designing robust architectures to inventing new UX patterns.

Job description here: https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/kinelo/jobs/4205846009

We offer competitive salary and very meaningful (~first batch of hires) equity, with a founder previously exited to Apple and strong fundraising history (~$10m).

Please email us at [email protected] in addition to applying on Greenhouse. For the engineering role, tell us how you think the job of a software engineer is changing.

Stripe | Hybrid (50% of time in Toronto office) | Senior Go developer

We're looking for a senior-level Go developer who can design and ship idiomatic code our users love to work with. We can all write Go that compiles, but don't always know what best practices for 3rd party code are (in the Go ecosystem specifically). Ideal candidates are a part of the Go community / ecosystem and know what the current best practices are. They also probably have TypeScript experience (most of our tooling is TS) and in a perfect world, Ruby/PHP ecosystem knowledge (the other languages we're currently seeking expertise in). But, if we get a Go expert who's willing to learn a bunch of TypeScript, that probably works!

JD and application: https://stripe.com/careers/listing/backend-engineer-develope...

The best way to apply is to go through the form on the site. Happy to answer questions here though! It's a fairly unique role.

Octozi | Founding Engineer | Brooklyn, NY | ONSITE | Full-time | https://octozi.com

Clinical trials cost about $1B each and roughly $1M for every day they run late. They are still run on manual data review: people checking data by hand across spreadsheets and PDFs, hoping nothing was missed.

We automate it. Continuous data cleaning, data that stays analysis-ready, and signals across the whole study so sponsors can make decisions on data they trust.

What that means in practice: - Reconciling data from many systems that describe the same patient differently - A rules engine expressive enough that new studies get configured, not coded - Findings a clinician will act on, which means correct and self-explaining - Real product surface: this is what people stare at all day

In production with pharma sponsors. Small team, second engineering hire, no legacy to defend.

Stack: Django/Python, React, AWS. SOC 2 Type II.

Comp: $170-220K + equity.

Shepherd (Series B) | ONSITE | San Francisco, CA & New York City, NY

At Shepherd, we're pursuing the most ambitious technical vision in commercial insurance: fully autonomous underwriting. Shepherd is an AI-native commercial insurance platform transforming how high-hazard industries get covered.

The infrastructure behind the AI boom (data centers, semiconductor fabs, renewable energy assets) has to be built and insured, but traditional carriers weren't built for this speed. We built Shepherd to solve that.

We announced our $42M Series B earlier this year! That brings our total funding to over $60M — led by Intact Private Capital, the investment arm of one of the largest insurers in the world. Intact is not only our lead investor but also a carrier partner, a testament to the confidence the incumbent industry has in what we're building.

We’re looking for product-minded, high ownership engineers to join our team! The Engineering team is HQ’d in SF, but we’re growing in NYC now too!

We’re hiring for 2 Senior and 1 Staff SWE in SF, and 2 Staff SWE in NYC. Engineers own projects end-to-end so full stack ability is expected.

Check out our open roles here: https://shepherdinsurance.com/careers

Our stack includes: Typescript, React, Next.js, GraphQL w/ Apollo, Node.js, Postgres & Redis

– If you have experience building AI agents or multi-step reasoning systems, we’d love to hear from you.

* In the form, be sure to mention that you heard about this opportunity via Hacker News.

Tasklet | Head of Design Engineering, Software Engineer (multiple), Customer Success Engineer | San Francisco, CA | ONSITE | Full-time

Tasklet is building the AI platform companies use to run their business on agents. You describe an outcome in plain English and our agents do the work across your SaaS tools, APIs, browser, files, and internal systems — immediately, or in the cloud 24x7 on a schedule or in response to events. Every agent gets its own cloud computer, filesystem, database, and browser. We're a team of 12 in SF, founded by Andrew Lee (Firebase founder) and Jonny Dimond, backed by $42M from USV, Lightspeed, YC, and others.

Head of Design Engineering ($300–450K base, 0.35–0.70%) — IC role owning our product experience end to end: decide how Tasklet should work, design our UX, and personally ship it in production. Looking for an experienced ex-founder builder with exceptional taste and real design & frontend chops.

Software Engineer — multiple roles ($220–400K base, 0.15–0.60%) — agent harness, context management, sandboxed execution, model serving, storage, Kubernetes, mobile & web apps. Deep systems fundamentals matter more to us than an AI résumé. Mid-level through Staff+.

Customer Success Engineer ($130–180K base, 0.05–0.15%) — own customer relationships & support our users. Help our customers use Tasklet more effectively and feed what you learn back into your core offering. We're looking for an AI power-user who's great with customers. ~1–5 years professional experience. No engineering background required.

All roles are in person at our office in SF -- no exceptions -- and we're not sponsoring visas at this time.

Full details here: https://tasklet.ai/careers — to apply, email me ([email protected]) with your resume and a video under five minutes that includes a demo of the most impressive thing you've built recently. See careers page for specifics.

Forus is building an AI-powered network that connects doctors, pharmacies, payers, and biopharma to accelerate new science to patients.

Our platform automates the complexity between a doctor prescribing a medicine and a patient starting treatment, including insurance coverage, financial assistance, and supply chain navigation. We provide this support free to doctors and patients, helping them get life-changing medicine faster, cheaper, and easier. The resulting network enables biopharma companies to design better research, launch new drugs more effectively, and invest in harder-to-treat conditions.

Spacelift | Remote (Europe) | Full-time | Senior Software Engineer | $80k-$110k+ (can go higher)

We're a VC-funded startup (recently raised $51M Series C) building an infrastructure orchestrator and collaborative management platform for Infrastructure-as-Code – from OpenTofu, Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, Pulumi, Kubernetes, to Ansible.

On the backend we're using 100% Go with AWS primitives. We're looking for backend developers who like doing DevOps'y stuff sometimes (because in a way it's the spirit of our company), or have experience with the cloud native ecosystem. Ideally you'd have experience working with an IaC tool, i.e. Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, or SaltStack.

Overall we have a deeply technical product, trying to build something customers love to use, and have a lot of happy and satisfied customers. We promise interesting work, the ability to open source parts of the project which don't give us a business advantage, as well as healthy working hours.

If that sounds like fun to you, please apply at https://careers.spacelift.io/jobs/3006934-software-engineer-...

You can find out more about the product we're building at https://spacelift.io and also see our engineering blog for a few technical blog posts of ours: https://spacelift.io/blog/engineering

Distru (https://www.distru.com) | Senior Software Engineer | AI Product Engineer | Senior Product Manager | REMOTE (Americas & Europe) | Full-Time

Distru is the #1 ERP in the cannabis industry. $3.5B in annual GMV flows through our platform, and most of the top cannabis brands and distributors in the US run their entire operation on us to stay compliant.

We're profitable, stable, and growing. No runway anxiety, and we're reinvesting into new product lines. We're an intrinsically motivated team that works without ego, is constantly learning, and genuinely cares about our people (5/5 on Glassdoor).

Distru is at an inflection point. We have deep market penetration in cannabis ERP, a new commerce layer (Distru Commerce, a B2B wholesale marketplace) live and growing, and a roadmap with a growing AI component. Our live AI Order Agent already lets buyers submit orders in any format from any source, killing manual data entry, the first of many bets on using AI to strip the repetitive heavy lifting out of running an ERP.

The roles: You'll own mission-critical parts of the product end to end, from planning and design through implementation, testing, and shipping. You might work on AI-native features (order/purchase intake, smart product matching, systems that learn from user feedback), Distru Commerce storefronts and ordering, manufacturing and distribution workflows, cultivation mobile tools for the floor, or compliance integrations with state systems like Metrc. These are high-ownership roles: you'll partner directly with product, design, support, and our C-suite, and you'll get customers writing you personal "thank you" emails.
