No, but the absolute riveted fascination with the fact that historical things actually exist (as clearly exhibited by the featured article) is, in my experience, uniquely American. Most of the people in the rest of the world are surrounded in their daily lives by ancient things; if not buildings, then monuments, castle ruins, petroglyphs, etc. But it is not unusual to hear Americans say things like “someone once died in this house!”.
