alt Hacker NewsI mean, it makes sense in the USA's head. They want to win the AI race. What they are doing is making it so China has no choice but to develop an alternative to Nvidia chips.
Eventually China will make their own shovels to dig up the gold. I'm not sure what this would do to Nvidia, but I'm sure we will find out.
The funny thing is we do not have the ability to do more than slow them down briefly, so this will simply result in the production of a totally parallel capability that can then be sold to the rest of the world
