Diffusion models were invented in the EU. Lots of other fundamental contributions are from here too.

The US dominates the commercial space in LLMs, but the EU is much further along in that too than may be immediately apparent.

There is often no replacement work for those made redundant by increasing automation. US solution to let them just fall through non-existent social net without care in the world and starve on sidewalks is rather unacceptable here, also its a dumb proposition long term on par with medieval societies.
