I deny this rhetoric; you can use it to justify all kinds of wrongs. I can't tell you what I'd done if I was living in the early days of Hitler, because I don't have that context, while I do have the hindsight. Comparing Hitler with the current US administration seems a bit of a stretch to me, even though I have strong disagreements with some of the things that Trump/MAGA are doing (or _seem_ to be doing. At this point it's hard to trust anything anymore).
