For example, when I moved to the US, I was told, again without any evidence, Chinese students cheat a lot. It's always a couple of faculty who extrapolate their experiences with a few students and then slap racial labels on the entire student body.

Notice that these sort of "racist rumours" only started in the last few years and not before. AI has simply lowered the threshold for _everybody_ to take-shortcuts/cheat etc. and nothing specific to any one group other than statistical numbers.
