The descent into madness cycle isn't new to AI. Better IDEs, better frameworks, better languages — each one sped up step 1 and the bottleneck moved further downstream. AI just makes the contrast so extreme that the review bottleneck becomes impossible to ignore.

Maybe that's the real contribution of AI coding: it finally makes the actual problem visible.
