Maybe it's time to put Engineering in software engineering. Make the title mean something.

Should Civil Engineers be able to shrug if their AI-designed bridge collapses? That's ridiculous. Maybe software engineers should be licensed as Professional Engineers and held accountable for harm they cause. If they sign off on something that's dangerous, that's malpractice.
