You’re missing the obvious explanation here. Driver profile. You could have the safest car around but if it’s being driven by unsafe drivers it will lead to higher accidents and fatalities.
I can get on board with the rationale that Tesla drivers are idiots.
The model Y and S are far too high volume to fall into a driver profile issue.
Why are we looking at this from a perspective of making an attempt to exonerate Tesla first? Why not trust the data until a better explanation arises?
Basically you’re just guessing that it’s the drivers’ fault, but that’s not what the data says specifically.
