Senior software engineer, 20+ years on production systems. Working on neural nets since 1996 (neuroevolution, genetic programming) — multiple AI cycles' worth of perspective on what survives the hype. Currently building a regulatory forecasting system for Polish law: ingesting statutes back to 1944, building a graph of legislation and amendments, reasoning about where the regulatory surface is moving. The hard problems are PDF → structured graph at scale and reasoning under uncertainty, not the model wrapper.
I also write about where AI coding agents actually work and where they quietly fail.
Best fit when the work is engineering-shaped — application/data rather than infra/SRE/Kubernetes-heavy — and the schedule overlaps EU hours. Comfortable as autonomous IC or small-team tech lead. Domains where messy real-world data meets non-trivial reasoning are where I'm sharpest — regulatory, legal, scientific, financial.
