The mentioned new modalities of ads are all incredibly speculative. Meanwhile, ads on AI Mode do already exist but they look more or less identical to search ads, demarcated from the main response at the bottom, with a "Sponsored" tag. I guess there will be quite some frog-boiling before we get to anything like the token/prominence auctions.

These approaches are obviously great if your goal is to force marketing down people's throats, but it kills the integrity of the platform.

I don't get why people would continue using Google search (other than familiarity/momentum). As a site owner I'm questioning whether I even want to be indexed by Google.
