So to your point, I agree, it was never fine, but it was only seen as problematic by the mainstream after the re-alignment with the Trump admin.

The censorship, the injection of government-approved standpoints, the shadow-banning, the organised campaigns to throttle dissenting voices and more similar activities. This all happened under the Biden regime with nary a peep from the media and those who pointed it out were labelled and called names.
