Isn't it right next to the largest agglomeration in Poland? Also close to two (maybe three) other countries connected via highways?

Apple’s head office for all of Europe is located in Cork, Ireland. They are not averse to building offices in places you might not expect.
It’s not some “paper HQ” for tax purposes, either - they have over 6000 employees there and are easily the largest private employer in Cork.
