The wealth of the "capital class", whatever that means, is dwarfed by the debt being run up by governments.
My favorite example: if you confiscated all of the wealth from all of the billionaires in the USA, it would fund the federal government for around six months. If you add state and local governments, those funds would last just weeks.
The rich don't have your money. Your government does, and they're flushing it down the toilet (and bombing Iran).
Reminder it has been the intentional policy of the Republican party since the 1980s to 'starve the beast'. That policy includes pushing tax cut after tax cut in order to run up debt to weaking the government/it's ability to fund programs, and then make claims just as OP has.
The rich have our money. The money given to them via irresponsible tax cuts for the last 40 years in an intentional policy to fiscally damage the government so much it fails.
