Birduino: A card-triggered audio player for [learning] the birds

I see Cornell was mentioned. If you're ever in Ithaca, NY, visit Cornell's Lab of Ornithology at Sapsucker Woods. The people at the lab are also responsible for the Merlin app that lets your phone identify birds from their vocalizations.

Cool project, but my question is: what are those buttons?

I known a certain person that would love this. Would it be possible to make something similar using Ntag215 tags and a phone app perhaps?

This is stupidly cool and exactly the kind of thing I love. My only complaint about these kinds of posts is while I am not currently in the market for a Birduino (ok, I totally am but am in denial), I always wind up adding at least one of the links to my cart and then trying to invent a use for it. Right now it’s the NFC stickers.
