The confusion with Plan 9 is probably part of the reason this jumped onto the front page.
Besides that name clash, it apparently competes with another terminal emulator that was creatively named "vt100".
Scrolling over the page I did a double take when I saw the benchmark. No way a vt100 can do 221 MiB/s! Who even types that fast anyway?
Very chatty build scripts for one. I remember reading the build instructions for clisp many years ago, and it very explicitly told you to run the build in xterm and not something like gnome-terminal, because xterm was way way faster at getting all the output through.
