I stayed at that hotel! I think it was the Peachtree something-or-other in downtown Atlanta, around 1980-85.

I didn't see you capitalized the T at first. The sentence was still somehow making sense.
Im pretty sure I've only ever seen people read usa today when hotels give it away for free with the continental breakfast.
