The argument is that on PlayStation, the only option you have going forward is via the 'PlayStation Store'.

So why can't you just buy an Xbox, Switch 2, PC to game?

Your PC app stores argument doesn’t make sense here because PC hardware is not sold at a loss or break even. Console business relies on selling hardware for cheap in hopes of making money on software.
