Yeah, Build The Wall rhetoric is pretty popular worldwide. While most associated with Trump, it’s a general view that people demand their neighbours be blood-and-soil compatriots. Immigration is generally seen as a threat to the local populace.

The most famous actual wall in Europe is the Berlin Wall, which wasn’t about ethnicity or built to keep anyone out. And even Trump’s wall isn’t about blood or soil - CBP and ICE would collapse without the Spanish speaking Hispanic population of Texas and the southwest filling their ranks.

The point GP was making is that digital nomads are generally in a particular place only temporarily not permanently. So, feelings towards nomads is not the same as feelings towards immigrants. The latter are building community. The former simply feeds off of it.
