So not exactly the same thing, but in the Phoenix metro area the homeless population probably triples during the months when it's not 100 degrees plus. I've always assumed, with no evidence whatsoever, that there's some NGO that moves homeless from more northern latitudes to southern ones, and back, depending on the season, mostly because it just makes sense.
