Was snorkeling this winter in some tropical waters in asia and noticed how dead everything looked, compared to the same place 20 years ago. When I asked about it, the locals said "It's all from the same El Niño in 2015. It all died the same year".
So there are vast areas of Coral that used to be fantastic in 2014 and which is dead since the 2015-16 season. It takes many decades to grow back if it ever does. And now we're about to have another.
