I just want to take a couple of notes, I need to write down a handful of bullet points to remember the name of an NPC or two for the Pathfinder game I'm playing in, and notepad is like "set up your OneDrive account!".

It's slow, too. On corporate hardware it can take several seconds for the "new" Notepad to open and actually start rendering keypresses. Instead I use Notepad2 and Notepad++ which are instant on the same hardware, like Notepad used to be.
