Sentiments like that are an excuse. You could have said something very similar about the IRA in Ireland before its independence from the UK, or the ANC in South Africa during apartheid. You’re essentially asking people to peacefully accept their oppression. If it was you, is that really what you’d do?

“Sympathy” is not much use in situations like these. “Sorry your people are being murdered” doesn’t really help.

The whole world does sympathize with the Palestinians. Israel is a pariah.
