The observation that leisure becomes work is definitely true for contemporary video games, many of which are stuffed with so many "busywork" features and mini-games that they become tedium, like another job. And since ancient times, the wealthy have hunted for recreation, almost like simulating the need to directly acquire food in the wild that they have lost.
