That's an issue when you listen to health officials (political appointments) or intelligence services. I want to listen to actual virologists - the people who have worked or are working in the kind of labs it might have leaked from.
The reality is nobody can say confidently that it did, or that it didn't leak from a lab. Absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence. But what virologists can say with some degree of confidence is that covid was probably NOT the product of genetic manipulation.
So if there's no evidence it was the subject of research, all we are left with is the coincidence of the wet market and the lab being a 40 minute drive away from each other.

Whether covid is the product of genetic manipulation and whether covid was released from a lab, due to an improper safety culture are completely different questions, and nobody has talked about the former question yet.
