I guess the author implies that a blog writer wants other people to engage with their articles. Without supplying any quantifiable evidence I wouldn't say I find it convincing, but I did stick around until the end of the article. That shows at the very least that the article was written in a way to keep me interested.

That’s like saying there is no such thing as bad writing because people can write what they want.
