I’m reminded of a television show at the end of the 1970s, The Body in Question written and presented by Dr Jonathan Miller. In one episode he explains how through history our understanding of the human body has always been shaped by or recent technological advances, such as steam engines, the automated loom etc.

We now try to understand the brain and the human mind in terms of computers, and of course that only gives us a poor analog of reality which may somewhat assist with understanding it, but which may hinder our more complete understanding.

I read quite a bit of this and I'm not getting the point or understanding what the author is saying. On the one hand babies are born with reflexes and learning mechanisms. On the other, we're not born with knowledge, rules, representations, algorithms, models?

By reading this post you have used your brain to process information, thereby disproving his own point.
