They need at least one check for 400-600€ a year. Not much cheaper is the check for normal 2000-4000€ electric bicycle. And they are super popular here in wealthier neighborhoods.
I always laugh at the people on bikes like that. There is absolutely no way that they are going to perform any better on those bikes the shape they are in. It's a combination of cosplaying and conspicuous consumption.
