Playboy was always in the grocery store checkout in usa, it sometimes had a black cover over it, but that was usually only for the real porn. My first glance at playboy was in 1st grade at my first sleepover, I don't think anyone even liked girls at that point. It was purely about it being forbidden, and guess how it was obtained? Yes the older brother of course.
I often wonder how much better my life would have been had it not been for that day? /s
Considering grocery stores around here in the US are now running gambling machines I think you underestimate what grocery store operators are willing to sink to.
