Microsoft Defender now supports Linux desktops

A corporate Ubuntu laptop used to be much smoother than a windows 11 laptop in identical hardware.

I guess this is one way for Microsoft to address that...

Well, that proves it. This the year of the linux desktop!

Meanwhile, I'm very much intending to not install microsoft defender on it.

I'm pretty sure it was already available, but now they are expanding the god forsaken things it does?

Simply, why?? Why someone would install Microsoft Defender on Linux?
