alt Hacker NewsI go back and forth on this. I'm generally opposed, but I also think that if we have a death penalty it shouldn't be so bloodless. It should be a beheading that the governor of the state has to do themselves. We shouldn't be able to pretend we aren't doing something incredibly violent

I wonder how people would weigh in on the death penalty if the executioner got selected from the criminal's peers akin to a jury.

Then you have to decide what to do for public execution number 2 - do the same again and risk that people become desensitised to what's happening or just go even more violent?
