Key figure missing in this article is "by how much"?

Compared to chicken breast it's about 2.87x less impactful, but the real offender is beef, which has 25x the footprint of tofu.

Overall we really just need to get rid of beef. On an annual basis the carbon footprint of the respective protein sources is:

-tofu - less than 500kg

-chicken - less than 1250kg

-beef - over 10 tonnes

Mix one part peas with two parts chicken and you're around a tonne - a reasonable amount without having to even touch tofu.

you don't even have to get rid of it, even consuming less beef has significant impacts.

So you’re voluntarily choosing the higher carbon/infinitly higher cruelty option because… it’s better than beef? I understand beef is the main issue for climate change and that this is a climate change thread, but why not throw some good old compassion into the mix and just stop subjecting billions of animals to the horrors of the industry?

Your numbers for chickens only work if we keep them in the absolute worst conditions for life, jamming them into tight spaces so their carbon footprint is similar to tofu.

JUST EAT THE FUCKING TOFU.
