Oh good lord do I hate this "your carbon footprint" rhetoric.

Eating a hamburger or driving a car is not the problem at an individual level.

These companies are: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2019/oct/09/revealed... Going to bet not much has changed since 2019.

You can't vegan hamburger your way to terminating those enterprises. You can tax, regulate and ban them though; and use the revenue to help society adjust.

Yeah. I raise my own cattle and the amount of beef we get from a single cow is more than enough to meet our beef needs for a year (at normal Western averages). They are a "closed loop" - they forage on plant material that would grow and rot anyway and actually condition the soil and make our pasture and forest healthier, and remove any need to buy fertiliser for our gardens or pasture.

Telling people that eating a burger is somehow having a huge environmental impact is nonsense, and it becomes rather obvious it's just promoted by people who want to promote veganism for philosophical reasons who have hijacked the environmental reasons.

It is also a complete no-go in China where veganism is viewed with suspicion because it is associated with religious fanaticism.
