I'm looking forward to robotics a lot because solving menial tasks will have a huge class impact as we can stop looking for ways to keep a portion of society suppressed and dumb.

Well, the whole point of the current AI boom is about finding ways to stop keeping a large portion of society employed, so in that sleep what dreams may come must give us pause...

Menial tasks and gig workers aren't going away. If home robotics pans out, then those workers will have their wages suppressed which will prevent them from reinvesting into a college education.
