I was afraid of that. I grabbed a 2024-04-20 copy as a backup, in case it turned to slop, but I suspected it might be tainted already.

Archive.org should have some old dumps, for example https://archive.org/details/enwiki-20220501 is supposed to be May 2022 (All the later ones look like incrementals).
Early 2024 is probably still 99.99% handcrafted text.
Still, 2023-10 is probably the last pure https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low-background_steel
