Was it? Word, PowerPoint, Keynote, paid software, etc. all used to actually work. And you got support. You weren't just leeched off of through subscription payments. And things worked. There's been very little improvement in software tools that tracks the improvement in hardware speeds and programming languages. It feels like software gets slower and slower every year, with every day bogged down by up to dozens of different bugs encountered and poor feature improvements.

Every time I open my phone, Google has a new "busy/loading" icon. Why?!
