alt Hacker NewsPro tip always get the silver macbooks because they wear out considerably better. On the black ones the paint near the charger ends up looking terrible and any dents/nicks/scratches look bad.

the champagne color for airs looks really nice when worn too, but i mirror your sentiments on black - it does not age well

Except there is no "paint". Neither are there any "black ones"; space grey isn't very close to black, and I've seen no wear issues of any kind on any of the Macs I support.
I like scratches on my machines, it gives them character.
