It's run locally on your browser. (I'm not using this service; I just tested with a dummy database.)
Firefox has "File | Work Offline" but it would be nice if a site could invoke this after its assets were loaded, with a clear indication in the browser chrome.
It would make it much easier to trust these offline sites.
