alt Hacker NewsJust because they are academics and experts in some scientific or technical field does not mean they are immune to corruption and abuse of power. Arguably they are just as vulnerable to these things.

They are more vulnerable because they are not used to dealing with these types of people.

I hope so so much that the current level of corruption will get down. They have been given an immense task. I wish them all the best. The world will be watching.
