Trump calls other countries shitholes, and that's actually what he thinks. No doubt it's a diplomatic nightmare but I can't help but muster a small amount of respect for the sheer brazenness of it.
Brazenness is one way to describe it. Another might be a total lack of respect for anyone that doesn't capitulate.
It isn't like "saying it like it is" is actually good, or a morally respectable position. It is just word vomit. Most cynically, it is a political strategy to distract from his real self-interests.
