It is the same. Do you think those people who voted against data centers aren't using Cloud services, AI, services hosted on AWS, etc.
They want the data centers, just NIMBY.

Not at all. I gave houses as an example, but I hypothetically also don't want bus or rail stops anywhere near me. Or shops. Or bars. I guess it's not nimbyism since I don't own a bus stop or a shop.
