Please don't take HN threads on generic tangents [1] and especially not snarky ones. This isn't a response to the article - it's simply repeating a pre-existing association to a recognized name.

We're trying for more interesting conversation here and that requires specifics, not generics.

Another way of putting this is that we want reflective comments rather than reflexive ones [2].

Can't say I've had better experiences with GE appliances but their jet engines seem fine.

I also can't imagine what you thought this comment was contributing to the conversation but that's not my problem I guess.
