> Work has resumed on the long-dormant 3.0 development line (master; the JAR targets Java 8 and is tested on Java 8 through 25) after a multi-year gap.

I used BeanShell for a few projects years ago, but with JShell and the ability run a Java program directly from a source file, I have no reason to use BeanShell again. What does BeanShell3 offer over what's currently available?
This website is the most soulful thing I've seen today.
Hell yeah, I loved beanshell! We used to use it in Android development to give our apps a debug repl, telnet-style. It was so nice, if antiquated even back then. Excited to see this worthy project continue.
"Beanly was created with The Gimp"
I can tell.
Interesting I never heard of this. That site feels straight out of 1999.
After a long hiatus, BeanShell3 is back on schedule.
OMG blast from the past!
This was unexpected
OMG!
Which projects still use BeanShell? I have not heard of BeanShell since... idk 2012? or something, who is maintaining it as well, I would hope someone didn't just fork it and Oracle owns the rights to it somehow? Was Sun fully involved with BeanShell? I don't recall some of this.
Love seeing old projects come back to life though.
