They should be forced out then. Your inability to improve doesn't justify being a parasitic drain on the org's productivity.
You're not automatically a "parasitic drain" by not constantly going above and beyond. It's okay to pace yourself in order to give a consistent, reliable output. If it avoids catastrophic burnout, that's better for the company because they get to keep you, and don't have to hire and train your replacement.
