some part of me sinks into depression when vibe coders say "I" turned/did/made something. why does this bother me? smart managers i work with who actually build things as hobbies and used to build apps say this all the time so its not like it indicates someone is phony, it just really catches on my brain when i hear it

I believe that being able to claim the credit is a large part of the motivation for vibe coding for a lot of people.

My guess? It's like claiming credit for something someone else did.
It would be like me commissioning a painting and then claiming I painted it.
